Class Wars Rage On

From Forbes Magazine: 261 Millionaires in US Congress
Jam the Consumer Culture
Saying that money and politics go hand in hand would be stating the obvious, but a study released by the Center for Responsive Politics takes it further. In 2009, nearly half of Congress, 261 to be exact, are millionaires, 55 of them boast personal fortunes of more than $10 million, and 8 of them pass the $100 million mark. Only 1% of all Americans have the pleasure of a bank account with more than $1 million.[source]
H/T to Adrian Ivakhiv for the article.
Members of Congress are enjoying their own financial stimulus. Despite a stubbornly sour national economy congressional members’ personal wealth collectively increased by more than 16 percent between 2008 and 2009, according to a new study by the Center for Responsive Politics of federal financial disclosures released earlier this year. [source]
And in case you missed it:

“…executives at a handful of finance firms will be paid a record $144 billion, according to a new survey by the Wall Street Journal.”
When will you rebel?

I am so pissed off about this! So pissed off indeed! Maybe I will take my money out of the banks like Eric Cantona suggests. Wish there was more of it to take out!

Here in Greece things are devastating. unemployment is rocketing, businesses are crumbling, prices rising, salaries freezing, well-to-do corporations exploiting their workers and demanding slavery... we are living in a constant state of fear.

They even put a camera in the area where I work and monitor our calls and are continuing to do this despite my express objections that my bosses laugh about. And I am too afraid to quit cause I have a family and jobs are hard to come by. This pisses me off so much!

Someday my kids are maybe gonna get an education and either be unemployed or sell themselves for a lousy 500 euros per month and I feel so helpless.

And people are so tolerant. Theydon't even bother to demonstrate.I still do, and I am called an eccentric romanic.

Makes me want to scream. Or maybe assassinate someone.

I don't know what to say PC. Just know that many of us share your outrage - you are not alone.

The surreal thing is the hyper-elite don't even hide it anymore. They openly talk about how they "deserve" to accumulate this kind of wealth - and how the lazy and stupid deserve to remain slaves. They know there is nothing we can do about it within the present system. They own everything.

Something has got to give, non?

I think we are being left with no other choice than violence at this stage...

"Greece will certainly default on its debts, and it is an open question whether Greece will experience some form of revolution or coup – I'd put the likelihood of that over the next five years as around one in four." - Andrew Lilico, chief economist, Policy Exchange. (Quoted in June, 2010.)
